Important information for those who held a gym membership that was suspended or had a workshop or course booking that was cancelled due to COVID-19 restrictions from March 2020 to September 2020 Update Wednesday 16 December 2020 The deadline for new applications for refunds for cancelled courses, workshops and retreats and for partial refunds for foreshortened Student memberships for the 19/20 year due to the lockdown from March 2020 has now passed. Student 19/20 gym membership refunds University of Edinburgh students / visiting students studying at Edinburgh I am a student from the University of Edinburgh and have already requested a refund. When should I expect to receive the 19/20 gym refund? The majority of the refunds have now been processed. However, if you have not received a payment there may have been missing or incorrect information. A member of our team will be in touch to rectify this. We aim to process all new applications within 30 days from the date you contact us. How much will I be refunded for my student membership? We recognise that there was a level of uncertainty and unease in the days before our enforced suspension on Wednesday 18 March so we have calculated the refund values from Monday 9 March. Yes, you will be emailed a BACS Remittance advice notice when payments have been processed. I am a University of Edinburgh student but have not requested a refund yet, can I still get a 19/20 gym refund? Applications for refunds for the 19/20 year have now closed. Non-University of Edinburgh student members seeking a 19/20 gym membership refund I am a student from another university with a student membership, what happens now? Applications for refunds for the 19/20 year have now closed. Due to the tightening of Coronavirus restrictions put in place by the Scottish Government from midnight on 04 January 2021 we are currently unable to offer telephone refunds as our staff team are working remotely. If you have applied and have not called so that we can make your refund payment remotely over the phone you will be able to do so as soon as we are able to offer our telephone refund line again. We apologise for any inconveniance. Non-student gym memberships extensions I have a non-student membership, has my membership been reactivated? All memberships were reactivated on 4 September. Your membership expiry date has been extended by 28 weeks from your original expiry date. This is to allow for the 25 weeks that we were closed plus the week prior to closing as we recognise that there were uncertainty and unease in the days before our enforced suspension. Then we have applied an additional 2 weeks as a gesture of goodwill. I want to cancel my membership, what do I need to do?
