parkrun

parkrun events are free, weekly 5k runs and are open to runners, joggers and walkers of all ages and fitness levels.

parkrun is a global social movement, delivered in over 2,200 locations across 23 countries. Their mission is to break down barriers, widen participation and bring communities together through physical activity.

Actively promoting green travel, parkrun encourages people to get to local events using public transport, bike or on foot.

Holyrood parkrun was set-up and organised by volunteers, including University of Edinburgh staff members.

Upcoming Events

When it comes to volunteering, there is something for everyone at parkrun events; you could be setting up the course, scanning runner’s barcodes at the finish or ensuring everyone gets safely around the route as a marshal.
