Peffermill's natural turf pitches are acknowledged as being amongst the best in the East of Scotland and are used for a wide variety of sports including football, rugby, lacrosse and shinty. Image Key information The natural grass pitches at Peffermill are home to the University’s football, rugby, lacrosse and shinty clubs as well as intra mural leagues. They are also training and competition venue for other local clubs and visiting international teams, especially in the weeks coinciding with Murrayfield international rugby weekends. In the peak football season there are five football pitches available at Peffermill. During the summer season the pitches are rotated to accommodate cricket and essential grounds maintenance. However there are always football pitches available for use. During the regular season, there are two rugby pitches available, one with partial floodlights. During the lacrosse season, Peffermill has a dedicated ladies' grass lacrosse pitch, with an adjacent training area as well as marked men's pitch. We can also provide an additional show pitch to support major tournaments. Peffermill offers one grass shinty pitch. The 3G pitches at Peffermill can also be used for football, lacrosse and rugby. Kick off times for matches can be either morning or afternoon, the time is dependent upon availability and time of year. Please note we do not currently have the facility for evening grass games in the winter.
