The University of Edinburgh's Pleasance Sports Complex & Gym boasts some of the finest sports and fitness facilities in the country. As well as one of the country’s leading gym facilities the Pleasance also houses two multi-purpose sports halls, catering for a diverse range of indoor sports - everything from badminton to ultimate frisbee. There are also a number of sports-specific areas including dance studios, squash courts, boxing and martial arts areas, archery and rifle ranges and climbing/bouldering walls. Events, Conferences, Training Camps and Competitions The University of Edinburgh has a proud and successful history of hosting major sporting events and competitions, performance athletes and professional sport team training camps, and other conferences and events. Our gym offering Whether you're interested in cardiovascular exercise, circuits, fixed or free weights, we have a gym space to suit your fitness needs. Bouldering and roped climbing We have two climbing rooms at the Pleasance: a roped facility (the Tower) and a bouldering room (the Rock). Indoor sports facilities From basketball to badminton, we have activity areas for a variety of individual and team sports. Performance Gym Refurbished in summer 2022, our Performance Gym offers a state-of-the-art and private training space for our elite student athletes.
