University Players Selected for National Squads

Players from the University of Edinburgh Hockey Performance Programme have been selected for the Scottish and Cypriot Senior Men's Squads.

Gordon Amour, Daniel Coultas, David Forrester and Jamie Wong will all be representing Scotland in the World Legaue 1 Tournament at the National Hockey Centre at Glasgow Green, 6th-11th September.  The team will play Switzerland, Slovakia, Portugal and Wales during the event.

"We’re delighted for all four players. For Dave, Gordon and Jamie this will be the first major tournament that they have been selected to represent Scotland. With Jamie and Gordon both still under 21, this a great achievement. From a University perspective, to have 4 students in the Scotland Senior Men’s squad is extremely pleasing and highlights that our clear focus on player development, hand-in-hand with our team goals, is really beginning to pay off."

Graham Moodie
Head of Men's Performance Hockey

Moodie will be joining the men as an Assistant Coach and Edinburgh alumnus Callum Duke has also secured a position on the team.

University players Antonis Efthymiou and Christodoulos Karankannas will be representing Cyprus in World League 1 too. Their matches takes place this week in the Czech Republic and their team is coached by fellow University of Edinburgh student Thomas Barton.
