The Sport & Exercise Student Employment Programme provides experience and industry related professional development in one of the country’s leading and most diverse sport, fitness and active wellbeing settings. This week we have welcomed 43 new colleagues, who will work across 7 roles, onto our Student Employment Programme. As part of their grand welcome, every new colleague collected their new uniform and came together for the big University of Edinburgh Sport welcome and SEP overview presentation at St Leonards. It was brilliant to get everyone in the same room, to connect and to put faces to all the names. A great opportunity for the new team to interact and make new friends. As well as the big welcome the group also took part in the following sessions; Role Overviews Fire Steward Training Building Confidence & Gym Etiquette TechnoGym Masterclasses 1 Day Sports First Aid Watt Bike Les Mills Job Shadowing and other on the job training Learning and Development Manager, Mel Mclaughlin has been the driving force behind the SEP, and her efforts for this year’s cohort began 9 months ago. There is a mountain of work that goes into the programme, including managing CPD for the roles in collaboration with the respective Line Managers. Huge kudos to Mel and her hard work and commitment to the group.
